With black friday quickly approaching us, its time to see where the best music deals are going to be. For those music artist who don’t want to spend their pay check on an insturment, this is the best time to shop. A great store to go to on black friday is The Guitar center, i’m sure they will be having great deals left and right. For those who want to purchase a key board for someone else or for themselves, Best Buy will be selling first class keyboards for cheap prices. This is going to be a great year to take advantage of all this sales. Stores need the custumers and what better way to get them than by promoting sales through the entire store. With lines already forming out the doors for some stores, this year Black Friday is sure to be one of the busiest most of us have seen in the last couple of years.

Which One Should I Use?

With the advancements of the Internet, there are so many music sites where people can stream music from every artist to almost every song ever made and recorded. The question is which one should you use? The top four websites that I like to go on and listen to are Pandora, JukeFly, Imeem, and Slacker Radio. All of these websites host music that is free to listen to without having to wait for the entire album to download. Pandora is a site where you could type in an artist you like and similar artist will soon follow. With this site we are able to learn about new artist and become introduced to a lot of new music. JukeFly is a site that streams YouTube videos of music. This is a great site to watch music videos at anytime. The music site Imeem is great for albums; all albums ever recorded by a certain artist will appear. Slacker radio, like Pandora is a music site that allows you have music engineers chose similar music to your likings. Go check them out and see which one you like.

concerts in the park

For those who want to perform or just want to be entertained, there is a solution. Parks throughout the city of Los Angeles host what is called concerts in the park. This event is usually held during the summer, but the city of walnut will be offering winter concerts inside of their city hall. All are welcome to attend and for those musicians, sign up sheets are already posted, so if you want to rock out in front of a crowd, sign up now as spots are being filled quickly. This is a free concert and a great way to meet new people in the area. Vendors will be located outside selling food and hosting craft workshops for the kids. Cal Poly Pomona is only five minutes away from Walnuts city hall, so students can’t say it’s to far to go. On the cities website there is also a list of other activities that will be happening during the winter session.

Music on a Budget

Due to the recent economic conditions of our great state, it is hard for people, especially students to afford to go to any good concerts. Well we might have a solution for many who still want to go see show. The House of Blues is now having a 2 for Tuesday, which is a deal that allows you to buy a ticket at regular price and receive the second ticket for free. This deal is only offered on Tuesdays, but it’s a great deal for friends and families to attend a show a save a few bucks doing so. The House of Blues is trying promote more people to attend concerts in the local surrounding areas. Shows rang from comedy shows to punk rock music shows. On the House Of Blues website is a list of up- coming shows that are at a discounted price for Tuesday. This deal will be lasting for the rest of the year.

The Beatles Make a Come Back

Beatlemania is back, in full force. With the release of the Beatles remastered catalog and the debut of The Beatles Rock Band game, the band shows the world how popular and loved they still are. After 40 years since their last release The Beatles are still ranking high on the charts and now on game charts. The Beatles Rock Band game, which was released on Sept. 9 has made it to the homes of millions. The new game is a great form of entertainment, with custom instruments that can be purchased, this a great game to play with the family. It could be a bit pricey for many college students, but your money will be well spent. The Beatles Rock Band has some great graphics, that allow you to feel like a rock star playing along side The Beatles. The game alone comes with a few songs, but you could purchase more songs while playing. Other things that could be purchased are: band videos and live recordings from the studio that the band made before breaking up. Check out this game is a great way to have a great time.

Where the wild things are soundtrack

A book that has warmed the hearts of many, is now being released into a movie. Where the Wild Things Are is a classic story of imagination and fantasy, which is why the soundtrack had to capture the same thing. This film has a lot to live up to, and the music needs to be fantastic. For the soundtrack film director Spike Jonze asked Karen O lead singer for a band titles the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. She is singing her first solo song for the soundtrack called Karen O and the Kids. Another big song on the soundtrack is also “wake up” by a band Arcade Fire. The song was redone by the band to make it fit into the film. Most of the songs on the films soundtrack are fabulous. I love all the remixes and I think everyone that watches this film will fall in love with the music. On this soundtrack you could expect a lot of indie and soft sounds. The soundtrack could be uploaded on itunes for a great price and you could also listen to it when you watch the movie this weekend.

I want to help spreed the word about these talented performers, by posting when band or singers will be performing and where you could find cool new music.
